As they came back out from the woods and in to the car-park the shadows retreated a little and out here under a cloudless near-dark sky Amber could see a lot better and as Seth turned towards their car they both saw that the couple who had so enticed Stuart had gone and they could see Stuart’s car still parked up, and Amber was the first to spot Stuart’s outline in the car.

Amber looked at Seth and said, ‘I don’t want to do anything more with Stuart baby, I don’t like how he jumped at that woman.’

Seth kissed her left ear and told her that he was fine with that.

‘Are you going to put me down or what, I’d rather he didn’t see me like this okay?’

‘Sure,’ Seth replied and he helped Amber to her feet. She braced one hand on his shoulder as she fiddled with her left shoe; she took the high-heel off and shook out a small stone before slipping it back on to her foot.

Seth handed back her dress and she quickly pulled it on.

Seth unlocked the car and they both got in; they buzzed their windows down and Amber was the first to see Stuart walking across the car-park towards them.

Amber tugged the hem of her dress down over her patterned stocking-tops and asked Seth for a cigarette. Seth handed her the pack and she lit up two, she handed one to Seth and without saying a word he got out of the car and moved around to Amber’s side of the car just as Stuart stepped up. Seth had positioned himself so that Stuart couldn’t see too much of Amber’s seated frame.

Stuart smiled at Seth and said, ‘I thought you two were going to join in, where’d you get to?’

Seth shrugged, ‘I fancied a walk, and we thought we’d leave you to it, you didn’t seem to notice.’

Stuart grinned and said, ‘She liked it from behind I can tell you that much; she had a really wet snatch if you know what I mean.’

‘Too much info Stuart,’ Amber said from the car and both men could hear the scorn in her voice.

‘Hey any hole’s a goal right?’

Amber laughed; it was harsh sounding and she started to speak but Seth spoke over her, ‘I think we were just surprised by the woman’s behaviour.’

‘And yours,’ Amber said quietly; Seth didn’t think that Stuart heard her.

Seth said, ‘I, I mean we, we’re not as open to that sort of thing as you.’

‘I’ve been dogging a long time, you learn to take it where you can,’ Stuart said, he tried to look in at Amber but she faced resolutely forwards and Stuart looked up at Seth and said, ‘Seth, have I offended you in some way?’

‘No, I just think we’re looking for totally different experiences, I think you should leave us alone tonight.’

‘Hey man,’ Stuart said, he stepped to the side of Stuart and tried to step closer to the car but Seth held him off, Stuart turned to Seth, ‘Amber, Seth, don’t be prudes.
